Dr. Christopher Garnett earned his medical degree and masters of public health at the University of Kentucky in 2012. He is originally from Lima, Peru and is a fluent Spanish speaker. He completed his internal medicine training at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta in 2015 where he also completed the HIV Care training pathway for residents, culminating with credentialing as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He then moved to New Orleans and began work at Ochsner with a special focus on serving the Latinx and LGBTQ communities. His work as an HIV specialist has grown to include PrEP and PEP services. Outside the office, he enjoys the rich parade culture of the city and rolls with several krewes throughout the year.
