What is PEP?

PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis): PEP is a medication that can prevent HIV.  It works best when given as soon as possible after an exposure to HIV, ideally within 72-hours – but the sooner the better.  CrescentCare handles this as an emergency, with an immediate same-day appointment.

Please call for an appointment or to discuss PEP between 8:30am – 6pm: 504-418-5640
After hours or on weekends: 504-457-2711

CrescentCare has a team of HIV prevention and treatment specialists who can initiate medications to prevent HIV acquisition during your visit, and will monitor you during your treatment course.
