On September 1, 2020, the CDC issued an eviction moratorium. Effective September 4, 2020 -December 31, 2020. Tenants having trouble paying rent due to the COVID19 pandemic may be protected from eviction. Covered tenants who wish to exercise their rights under the order must submit a declaration to their landlord or property manager. The declaration includes statements about
- your income
- the basis for your inability to pay rent
- the risk of homelessness or doubling-up with others if evicted
- your efforts to make partial payments and obligation to continue to make payments timely
