CrescentCare, in partnership with the national Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) now offers Financial Coaching services which provides for assistance to economically vulnerable clients to help them with their financial goals. CFPB placed 60 certified financial coaches at organizations around the country to provide individualized educational services and one of these organizations is CrescentCare.
The project aims to provide financial coaching services at critical points in clients’ lives. Many CrescentCare clients are economically vulnerable and have incomes below the federal poverty level. They are likely to lack access to traditional financial services, and may benefit from financial products that are more appropriate to their needs and less costly. In-person, individualized and trustworthy guidance can help these clients make good financial decisions and reach their financial goals.
CrescentCare can help clients with the following types of services:
- Establishing personal and household budgets
- Setting financial goals
- Assisting with money management
- Savings plans
- Home ownership or rental issues
- Retirement plans
- Starting or improving a business
- Planning for own or child’s eductation
- Veterans’ issues
